Middle school is a time of tremendous social growth. I believe that 60% of the students effort is spent on the social part of school and the rest is spent of studies. With this in mind, the question begs , is combining both a educational and social aspect of middle school a positive thing or will it become too distraction? Will the kids just use blogs as a social network in school?
the other question a teacher must ask themselves is "Who is going to monitor these blogs and who has that much time?"

Social bookmarking. Wow, where do i start. I see a great advantage in these sites. I have used Delicious for about a year now. I am connected with several others but am very restrictive on what i look at and who i connect with. What i worry about with social bookmarking is the time factor. there are prople out there that spend all their free time on the web looking for interesting sites. They have way too many sites bookmarked on their delicous sites. When i look at their sites, it still takes me a lot of time to search all the sites. I guess it may take me a little less time using their suggestions but still a lot on time. I guess my advise would be that you should eb careful who you follow. they may be a nut case.
